AMON AMARTH Bassist On Drummer Change: 'It's Been An Easy Switch'
December 6, 2016Metal Jacket Magazine recently conducted an interview with bassist Ted Lundström of Swedish death metallers AMON AMARTH. You can now listen to the chat in the YouTube clip below.
Speaking about AMON AMARTH's latest addition, drummer Jocke Wallgren, Ted said: "It's worked great. Jocke is a fantatic drummer, he's a super-solid drummer, so it's very easy to play with him. He's so professional, so he just stepped in and it felt like we'd been playing for a long time already. So, yeah, it's been an easy switch."
AMON AMARTH's tenth studio album, "Jomsviking", debuted at No. 19 on The Billboard 200, having shifted 21,000 equivalent album units in the week ending March 31.
Jocke didn't play on the disc, but has been sitting behind the kit for all shows on the group's current world tour.
As previously announced, AMON AMARTH will embark on a spring 2017 European headlining tour with support from DARK TRANQUILLITY and OMNIUM GATHERUM.
"Jomsviking" was released on March 25 via Metal Blade in North America and Sony Music internationally. The first concept record in AMON AMARTH's storied career tells a tragic tale of love and revenge, backed by the Swedes' trademark melodic, anthemic metal, which was produced and mixed once again by Andy Sneap (MEGADETH, TESTAMENT, ACCEPT). The epic original story is set in the world of the Jomsvikings, the legendary order of mercenary Vikings.
